When Ludo King became the first Indian game to garner 1 Cr downloads within a few months, it also marked the success of an Indian entrepreneur. During the lockdown, users started to play Ludo King to beat the boredom. Now, the game has 5 Cr active daily users. Indians, who are accustomed to dice and other board games, wholeheartedly accepted Ludo into their life instead of PubG and other popular games. In android and iOS devices, Ludo appears first in the ‘free to download’ list.

Ludo King and founder Vikash Jaiswal became popular as he could exploit the opportunities offered by the digital space. Vikash Jaiswal’s early life is somewhat similar to the current state of mind of Ludo game users who want to win although life is a struggle.

Ludo King is released by Gametion Technologies, founded by Vikash, a native of Patna. While controlling the gaming trend sitting at his office in Navi Mumbai, Vikash recalls his childhood where he strongly desired to play games but couldn’t. After losing his father at the age of two, Vikash and his family survived with the family pension. Vikash had to sell hand-made greeting cards to find the money for engineering training. By the time he completed engineering, Vikash got interested in gaming. He secured a job at IndiaGames in Mumbai, but quit it to start his own. He started Gametion in 2010 with a capital of Rs 2 Lakhs. Ludo King happened in 2016. The Ludo King was coded by a three-member team. The same game garnered $3 Million in March when people stayed home. Now, it is a 20-member team that includes his wife Soni Jaiswal. Vikash is grateful to them for the success and says that it is the Ludo Team that stood with him during the peaks and valleys of his journey is the real winner.
