Periferry is a social enterprise that bridge between transgender community and companies. Neelam Jain, the founder and CEO, transformed the idea of an inclusive workplace for transgender to Periferry. The name periferry derived from its meaning ‘edge’. Relating the word to the people, who live their life on an edge and how to change their life and act as a ferry to help them to reach their desired destination. The idea struck Neelam Jain while working at Goldman Sach, to develop, an alternative job solution for transgender. Launched in 2017, PeriFerry targets companies that have about 30 employees, as they feel it is easier to sensitize smaller companies. Periferry creates alternative job solution for educated transgender of the age group in between 18 to 28. Functions from the co-working- space in Mylapore, Periferry imparts LGBTQ sensitization training for an equal and gender diverse workplace.
