Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology develops anti-cancer drug. Drug developed from a single-molecule chemical derived from a commonly seen plant across the world. First of its kind drug, can be administered intravenously. Institution has completed successful trials on animals & will soon proceed with clinical trials in Humans. The drug is a conjugation of a particular chemical with anti-cancer properties & albumin. The project has funding from Indian Council of Medical Research.
