Munich-based startup Lilium unveiled the world’s first five-seater aeroplane. The maiden run of the prototype went successful. The prototype will undergo a series of flying tests. Once fully functional, the company aims to offer an on-demand air taxi service with consumers using an app to find their nearest “landing pad” and then book their trip.
Though the aircraft runs on autonomous flying capacity, the company is planning to board a human pilot. Lilium plans to enter mass scale production of five-seater airplanes by mid-2020s.
