People who are non-vegetarian think that vegetarian diet is absolutely boring and non-appetizing. The notion is proved wrong in Candy and Green, a Mumbai vegetarian restaurant, where even meat-loving foodies are making a beeline to get the taste of its brunch drinks and cocktails.
Candy and Green is a concept introduced by Shraddha Bhansali, whose dream was to create a place to serve hearty meals which nourishes the mind and body. The meat-free menu the veg haven is offering is exciting and the menu flaunts a long list of delicious options.
For Shraddha Bhansali, who did her graduation in Hospitality and Business from the University of Boston, the concept of rooftop farm came to her when she met an urban farmer in Mumbai. On the 750-square-foot terrace, she grows microgreens like peppermint, Thailand grass, lettuce, lemongrass, kale, cherry tomatoes, purple cabbage, parsley, edible flowers, chives and even white chillies. From her roof-top farm, she gets 25 kilos of produce a week.
Her experiences in China and Iceland, savouring their vegetarian cuisines, have helped her mould the idea of Candy & Green, a clean-eating vegetarian all-day restaurant and bar in Mumbai.
