Indians spent 550 Bn hours on TikTok in 2019. This is 240% more than that of 2018. Or to be precise, an increase of 900 Mn hours compared to the previous year. 2019 was the year of TikTok in India. Monthly active users have increased to 81 Mn. The report was released by App Annie, a data analytics firm. Currently, 717 Mn people are using TikTok worldwide. This makes India the biggest market of the short video app, thereby overpowering the domestic market, China.

Time spent on Facebook has grown by 25.5 Bn hours. Bytedance says the video with the #EduTok hashtag garnered 48.7 Bn views. On average, a user spends about 34 minutes on the TikTok app. Google will soon launch Tangi app to compete with TikTok.
