The Rural India Business Conclave held in Kasaragod stressed that the future of the Indian economy is rooted in innovation and ideas that stemmed from the rural sector. Entrepreneurs and startup founders who created solutions for rural issues through technology shared their experiences with young entrepreneurs who attended the conclave.
An Agritech Hackathon, aimed at finding solutions for problems faced by rural sector, became the part of the conclave. Innovative solutions like mobile app for waste management, machine learning to discover the maturity of Coconut were born at the hackathon. Sahyadri Engineering College, who invented Mobile Based Drip Irrigation System for Multiple Cultivation, coveted first position and Meenangaad Polytechnic team won an appreciation award.
The two-day Conclave also discussed new technologies in agriculture, entrepreneurial opportunities and financial and technical support provided by non-governmental organizations to launch an enterprise. Advanced technologies in agriculture, Financial aid provided by governmental and non-govt enterprises to start enterprise, were also points of discussion at the event. Successful startup founders and nationally acclaimed rural innovation founders, spoke at the event. The two day hackathon was jointly organized by KSUM and CPCRI Kasaragode, with the aim to promote rural innovation.
