Pune-based startup Nocca Robotics develops low-cost ventilators. Contrary to current market price Rs 4 Lakhs/unit, Nocca’s products are priced at less than Rs 50,000. They are mechanical ventilators capable of operating in the pressure-controlled mode. Nocca Robotics, founded in 2017, is incubated in IIT Kanpur. The ventilators will be connected to a mobile phone for control & information display. All components of the ventilator will be locally manufactured. The device is capable of operating on its own in ambient air. Nocca Robotics aims to deploy 30,000 ventilators per month. India is in dire need of ventilators to treat COVID-19 patients. The startup prioritises indigenous demands; ventilators will be exported later.
