Lockdown: India’s industrial output shrank by an all-time low in March 2020. Index of industrial production contracted by 16.7% after lockdown. Output of manufacturing sector went down 20% whereas electricity generation fell 7%. Industrial output had recorded a growth of 4.5% earlier in February 2020. The findings were released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
