With the Chinese app TikTok being banned, various domestic alternatives are entering the Indian market. Tapping the opportunity, Ashish Sajan, an engineering student at the University College of Engineering, Kariavattom. He has come up with ‘TikTik-Made in India’, an alternative to TikTok. Ashish says that the app has almost all the features provided by Tik Tok including video uploading, chatting and audio mixing.

The app received a great response after uploading in the Google Playstore. It received 1.5 lakh downloads in a week. Ashish, a third-year B.Tech IT student, wants to launch the app commercially with more great features.

Ashish had earlier launched an app called BlogsApp in the Play Store. When the TikTok ban happened, he reintroduced the app as ‘Tik Tik – Made in India’. Ashish says his app is better than TikTok with respect to video duration. He also claims that his project excels in user experience. Ashish is now looking for investors to aid in the app upgradation.
