Govt plans special scheme to promote startups founded by disadvantaged communities
Aims to encourage entrepreneurship among scheduled caste and scheduled tribe communities
The scheme is titled ‘Ambedkar Social Innovation Mission’
The Centre will set up Rs 100 crore fund to support such startups
A motivation for students to run their own businesses than taking up employment
Ministries of Education, Social Welfare & Empowerment, and department of Science and Technology to take part
Funding for the mission will flow through the Venture Capital Fund for SCs
Potential ideas will get Rs 30 lakh in three years to make them into commercial ventures
