At a time when the world is fast shifting to a digital economy, digital democracy rules the roost. This was the key point made by Kerala Assembly Speaker P. Sreeramakrishnan during an interaction with startup founders from the state at Kochi Integrated Startup Complex. He said startups should be able to address problems plaguing the society. “We tend to make controversies over development,” the Speaker rued at the fireside chat, calling to shed the tendency to make progress. Sreeramakrishnan also feels a need for social engineering to put the state on a higher growth trajectory.
The Speaker maintains that startups need a permanent platform for mutual cooperation. He urges the society to ensure a congenial atmosphere for startups which are main drivers of growth.
The programme was organised by Founders’ Collective, an organisation of startup founders, in association with Kerala Startup Mission. Sreeramakrishnan was the speaker at the ‘Dialogue with Stakeholders’ session of the event. Kochi Integrated Startup Complex was hosting the debut edition of the founders’ meet. The event was also the venue for a startup product expo.
The programme was led by Nithesh, Gireesh, Mukesh, shihab and Nisha Krishnan, office-bearers of Founders’ Collective, and Startup Mission officials.
