BYJU’S gets CCI’s approval to acquire Aakash Educational Services (AESL)
The acquisition will lead to AESL merging with BYJU’S
Post the acquisition, BYJU’S will have complete control over AESL
As per reports, the acquisition deal is worth $1 Billion
AESL’s Aakash Institute has 200+ physical coaching centres across 130 cities
They provide engineering and medical test prep services to class X to XII students
Both companies will build an omnichannel platform that will accelerate test-preps to the next level
The acquisition will also help BYJU’S expand its offerings to smaller towns and cities
