Indian edtech sector has successfully turned the threat of covid-19 into an opportunity. Learning is an unstoppable process. It cannot be compromised under any circumstances. So, naturally, it was one area where most innovative startups emerged. Here are two women entrepreneurs who have started a different learning platform during the pandemic time and made hay.
Whiz League is a revolutionary Indian startup which was launched by Natasha Jain and Sonia Agarwal Bajaj. It’s an e-learning career-based web-app platform. The duo descended on the youngsters at a time when the latter were clueless about unconventional career options.
Although bringing experts to the platform was a time consuming process, Sonia and Natasha were able to kick-start Whiz League in April 2021, just five months after the idea was conceived.
The learning platform offers pre-recorded modules from experts in non-academic and career-specific skills.
Whiz League offers a variety of learning experiences with an array of experts. Guru Randhawa teaches how to become a rockstar, chef Ranveer Brar gives classes on culinary art and Mukesh Chhabra on auditioning and casting in Bollywood.
Whiz League does not stop with imparting education, but it helps learners build a career. ‘Whiz Launchpad’ feature allows students to submit an assignment and collaborate with experts after completing the course. Natasha Jain holds a Master’s degree in industrial engineering from Stanford University. Her previous ventures include edtech company Freshmentors and fintech startup Ruplee. She is also the co-founder of Plum, a restaurant retail enterprise.
Sonia Agarwal is a renowned social entrepreneur and a graduate of Bajaj Babson College.
The duo are now in talks with investors on the first funding round for the Whiz League.
