In Thailand, taxis have gone green with mini gardens on car roofs
These cabs by Ratchapruk and Bovorn Taxi cooperatives were idled by the surge of the coronavirus
Workers from the taxi cooperatives assembled the miniature garden for survival as well as a form of protest
They have used black plastic garbage bags stretched across bamboo frames and added soil on top of that
A variety of crops, including tomatoes, cucumbers and string beans, were planted
It aims to draw attention to the fate of taxi drivers and operators who were badly hit by coronavirus lockdown
The cooperatives say almost 2,500 taxis are sitting idle at a number of city sites
The drivers have left the cars as they could not find income even to meet daily expenses
In total, Thailand has confirmed 1.4 million cases and over 14,000 deaths
