Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the Indian Space Association (ISpA) .
The inauguration was done through a video conferencing.
ISpA will act as a single-window and independent agency catering to space technology
The PM also interacted with representatives of the Space Industry.
He said the govt is opening up the majority of sectors to private players.
Undertaking policy advocacy, ISpA will engage with all the space stakeholders.
It includes the govt and its agencies and would make India self-reliant and technologically-advanced.
PM Modi said the government is providing launch pads for the private sector.
The ISRO is being opened for the private sector, he added.
The new Spacecom policy is in the last stages of finalisation.
PM said that the space sector is a major medium for the progress of 130 cr Indians.
