Space technology students, startups and manufacturing companies in space technology can benefit much from Space Park, the joint venture developed by the Government of Kerala and ISRO. At the space technology conclave held in Thiruvananthapuram, experts explained various opportunities offered by the space park. The park will have a manufacturing hub linked to space technology research. The Department of Electronics & IT is entrusted with the development of the first space park in India.
APJ Abdul Kalam Museum
Space Park will have three verticals: Space & Aero Park, Nano Space Park for SMEs and SPACE Technology Application Development Ecosystem or STADE. Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSCC) will oversee the set up of APJ Abdul Kalam Knowledge Centre & Space Museum in the park to attract startups and investors. An interactive learning forum will be established. The Govt of Kerala along with other Public-Private agencies will arrange an additional facility to expedite the operations of companies coming to Kerala. Space Park will also comprise arrangements like the hi-tech manufacturing & production centre, business and customer engagement centre.
STADE
SPACE Technology Application Development Ecosystem or STADE, built in association with KSUM, will extend support to companies focused on the Satellite Data & Electronics Components segment. Another highlight of Space Park is the R&D Centre meant exclusively for research activities. Space Park aims to make Kerala a key hub in the country’s space technology sector.
