In order to develop solutions for various problems such as health and agriculture faced by the rural sector, KSUM and Central Plantation Crops Research Institute (CPCRI) jointly organise ‘Rural India Business Conclave’ in Kasaragod from February 27 to March 2. It will also have a two-day agritech hackathon. Both students and entrepreneurs can take part in the programme to be held at CPCRI Camp in Kasaragod.
The two-day conference will happen on March 1 and 2. It will have a founders Talk’ where India’s renowned entrepreneurs will lead sessions based on the theme ‘Empower India’s Villages and Agriculture through Technology’, a panel discussion involving tech experts, academic experts and entrepreneurs working in the rural sector and an investor-entrepreneur meet.
Chhavi Rajawat, who is known as the ‘Power Women of India’ will be the key speaker. Notable startup figures including Dr Saji Gopinath, CEO of KSUM, Matthews, who gained global attention with his delivery startup Fresh to Home will speak at the event.
Selected technology prototypes that present a solution to the problems in the rural sector will receive a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 and assistance from KSUM. The Agritech Hackathon will take place on February 29-March 1 whereas the Agri-Startup Expo will begin on February 27 and continue till March 3. The first 300 registered persons will have the opportunity to participate. Exhibition entry is free.
