Electric two-wheelers get cheaper as govt increases FAME II subsidy
Incentive on the purchase of electric two-wheeler has been increased to Rs 15,000 per kWh
This is Rs 5,000 per kWh more than the earlier subsidy rate
Ather Energy became the first company to pass on the benefit of this increased subsidy to its customers
The company has made its Ather 450X electric scooter cheaper
Govt’s move will directly benefit customers who are soon to buy an electric two-wheeler
However, not every electric scooter will get the benefit of this scheme
As per the CRISIL report, 95% of Indian e-scooters cannot be exempted while buying under the FAME-2 subsidy scheme
