Kerala Startup Mission has launched South Asia’s largest Startup Digital Hub. The Digital Hub, sprawling over 2 lakh sq. ft, is situated at the Technology Innovation Zone in Kalamassery. The hub will host incubators, accelerators, and the Centre of Excellence for startups in the technology sector.
The hub will focus on state-of-the-art techniques such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Augmented Reality, Internet of Things, and Language Processing. The platform intends to bring world-class product development centres and international institutions to Kerala. The Digital Hub’s goal is to gather all activities related to startups such as ideation and prototype development under one roof.
The Digital Hub consists of a design incubator, healthcare incubator, Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Mouser Electronics, design studios, special arrangements for investors, and an innovation centre. The upcoming studios can utilise the plug and play system with the help of the existing Fab lab and mini Fab lab.
Besides the 165 startups that exist in the Integrated Startup Complex, the new building will house 200 startups. Initially, it will provide direct employment to 2,500 people. The zone spans over 4 lakh sq. ft. As of now, it has a 2.3 lakh sq.ft Integrated Startup Complex, and Biotechnology Incubation Centre. Through Technology Innovation Zone, the Kerala Startup Mission aims to set up advanced facilities with international standards to support entrepreneurs in the state and enable the incubation process.
