The percentage of people affected by cardiovascular diseases is increasing in our society. Most of them are unaware of it. Sonia Mohandas along with her husband Archu S Vijay, decided to start a socially relevant startup. An assistant professor Sonia and a Government employee Archu, thus ended up starting their own venture, Wafer chips techno solutions. The Kollam Techno park based Wafer chips techno solutions is a 15 member team including doctors, biomedical engineers, software hardware developers and data analysts. Biocalculus is an ultra low power wearable ECG device which can be used as a personal health device. The device can be attached on patient’s chest to record the ECG readings. The data recorded is collected to the Smartphone application using OTG cable and uploaded to cloud. The reports can be shared to doctors for further diagnosis.
