COVID 19 lockdown: Ola offers 500 cabs to Govt of Karnataka. Cabs will be used to support govt initiatives during the lockdown. Ola taxis will be available for medical emergencies. Govt can decide the number of cabs needed in cities where Ola has services. Ola had also announced the ‘Drive the Driver’ Fund to support its driving partners. Ola Group employees have crowdfunded Rs 20 cr to help drivers.
Central Govt allows 100% tax rebate for contributions to PM-CARES. A new ordinance, Taxation and Other Laws (Relaxation of Certain Provisions) Ordinance, 2020, was issued. The new initiative brings tax treatment in par with the PM National Relief Fund. The first step towards FM’s slew of relief measures to combat COVID -19. Relief includes an extension of GST returns filing, Aadhar-PAN linkage till June 30. A reduced interest rate of 9% down from 18%. Extension of the last date for filing delayed ITR for FY19 to June 30.
