Orient Electric Limited, the leading consumer electronics brand, introduced India’s first IoT-enabled ceiling fan Aero Slim. The cylindrical-shaped fan has an integrated LED underlight and can be controlled via Alexa and Google Assistant voice controls. The Orient Aeroslim smart ceiling fan is priced at Rs 7,790. The speed of the fan, modes, reverse rotation, and the underlight with dimming options can be controlled via the Orient Smart mobile app. The app also provides an option to schedule the fans’ operation. Orient Electric Limited claims it helps to save 40% of energy.

Ford Motor Co. invests $500M in Rivian, an electric vehicle startup. Tie-up to enable Ford to develop its own branded electric vehicle. Rivian specializes in electric pickup trucks & sport utility vehicles. Vehicles will be manufactured at the company’s startup plant in Illinois. Deliveries to customers expected to begin by late 2020. Rivian has also received $700M led by Amazon earlier this year.
