Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey commits $1 Bn to fight coronavirus. He will donate the amount which is from his stake in Square Inc, a payment firm. After COVID subsides, the focus will shift to girls’ health, education & UBI. Dorsey’s is the largest donation made by a single entity to fight the pandemic. The donation represents approximately 28% of his wealth. Jack Dorsey has a net worth of $3.9 Bn.

The mass media campaign will be titled ‘#BreakTheChain’ / #VirusKiKadiTodo’. HUL recently committed Rs100 Cr to help anti-COVID activities. The company also rolls out initiatives to help citizens gain access to essentials. Theme of the campaign will be Social Distancing, Handwashing and Generosity.

Kerala joins hands with IIT Kanpur & Genrobotics for ventilators. Kerala State IT Dept & KSUM will lead the venture. Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre will also take part in the project. Genrobotics is known for developing the sewage cleaning robot. IIT Kanpur had recently introduced the prototype of a portable ventilator. If COVID cases rise in the country, there will be more demand for ventilators.
Kerala develops India’s first walk-In kiosk or WISK for coronavirus test. It is inspired by the model deployed in South Korea for COVID testing. The sample collection for PCR & Rapid tests can be done using WISK. Healthcare professional behind the glass shield can collect throat swab in a safe distance. Thick gloves are attached to the shield to help the professional maintain distance. Two WISKs were set up at the Govt medical college, Ernakulam.
