Menstrupedia, founded by Aditi Gupta is unique in its social mission. This woman entrepreneur’s startup is a guideline to impart awareness on menstruation for girls which is enwrapped in superstition. Born in to a middle class family in Jharkhand, Aditi incurred menstruation with all confinements imposed by the society in the early 90s. She belonged to a family which believed it a disgrace to buy napkin from shop. Aditi’s study on menstruation health and hygiene started for her thesis at National Research Institute Ahmedabad. With 3 years of e-learning industry experience, Aditi with friend Tuhin Paul started Menstrupedia in 2012. Menstrupedia renders awareness for girls on menstruation which is enwrapped by superstition. Over 500 schools across India use Menstrupedia designed comic guides on periods. Aditi believes women will be liberated only when family prepared to talk openly on menstruation to girls.
