Made in china Video sharing platform app, TikTok has become 2018’s most downloaded mobile app on android and iOS unseating the likes of Instagram and YouTube. China which didn’t receive much applauds for its software in global market, this time hit the social media with its entertainment app TikTok. Chinese digital giants like Alibaba, Tencent Baidu haven been putting efforts to take over the tech world but results were disappointing so far. TikTok is originally named as Douyin was developed by ByteDance in china in 2016. Douyin was branded as TikTok for global market and expanded in other countries in 2017. In 2017 ByteDance acquire competing video sharing site Musical.ly. TikTok and Musical.ly made a powerful merger to reach globally. The recent valuation makes TikTok the World’s most valuable startup, higher even than Uber.
