Delhivery enters Unicorn club after raising $413Bn from Softbank

Delhi based Delhivery becomes the first Indian Logistic firm to enter unicorn club. Softbank invested $413 million from its Vision Fund into the firm, Delhivery valued close to $2 billion. With the investment SoftBank takes 22.4%shares in firm and will be a part of its board. Delhivery has three verticals of warehousing & packaging, Technology service to online retailers and data services including route optimization & real time shipment tracking. Sahil Barua, Mohit Tandon, Suraj Saharan, Bhavesh Manglani and Kapil Bharti co-founded Delhivery. The first branch was set up in a 250 Sq ft room in Gurgaon, their corporate office, dispatch centre, call centre, development centre all in one. Started off by 5 co-founders and 4 delivery boys then, Delhivery today have more than 21000 team members. It has 44 hubs, more than 2500 direct delivery centers across India & delivers a million packages a day. Delhivery presently operates in 1700 cities across India. Tiger Global management, Nexus Venture Partners, Softbank are some of Delhivery’s current investors.
