Niti Aayog recommends a complete transition to electric vehicles by 2030. The move will support India’s clean fuel vision and reduce pollution risks. Complete e-vehicle sale may help reduce India’s import dependence for oil by a big margin. India can save up to 64% energy consumption & cut down 37% carbon emission by 2030. Niti Aayog suggests only EVs with engine capacity up to 150CC to be sold by 2025. The road transport and highways ministry has also been asked to pilot e-highway program.
