Risking everything for his dream
Any successful of entrepreneurs might have had to risk most or all their savings to start their dream business. Neel Premkumar, an entrepreneur, did the same to start his own coffee shot brand. Neil spent all of his life savings to launch Forto, a coffee shot brand.
In 2012, Neel Premkumar started a startup, Dyla in New York, which came to the market with Stur, a natural water enhancer. Stur is a food product which uses natural food extracts.
How Dyla happened
Dyla has an interesting story of its creation. When his pregnant wife wanted natural mix to make water taste better, Neel couldn’t find anything in the market that could satisfy his wife’s need. So he approached his food scientist friend. With the help of his friend, he made a mix using real fruit extracts and basil leaves and gave it to his wife. She couldn’t believe that it wasn’t a branded product. That moment had an impact on the entrepreneurial life of Neel.
He introduced Forto three years after the launch of Stur. Forto was started after realizing the potential of Coffee shots. Forto is basically shots of organic cold brew coffee. Forto products are now being sold in over 50,000 stores.
Forto evolves
After realizing the potential of Forto, even Stur Drinks’ income was channeled into it. The success of Neel as an entrepreneur was underlined when Forto‘s first distribution deal was signed with the US Military. Distribution became an easy process after a beverage company, Keurig Dr. Pepper invested in Forto.
The way the name came
Neel named his firm Dyla after his twin daughters Dia and Nyla. At times of crisis in the company, Neel thinks of the company’s name. He never wanted his children to fail. That care for his children helped the company survive any crisis. Neel takes care of his company Forto the same way a father takes care of his daughters.
