PayPal proposes data localisation in India, sets up global technology center in Hyderabad. PayPal, a US-based digital payments firm, is currently working on the proposal with partners. The initiative was mandated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). RBI had directed payment firms to ensure that data was stored exclusively on local servers. PayPal currently has about 3,500 employees in its three tech centres in India.
