Eco- friendly, Reusable Bumberry diapers

In the usual scenario, disposable diapers for kids are thrown away after use. This is harmful to environment. Also, there is doubts regarding how good are the diapers available in the market for the soft skin of babies. To put  an end to all these questions,
Kutty Krishnan, an educator by profession, introduced a baby friendly product, Bumberry.

An introduction

Bumberry is a brand for mothers who care for generations to come. Bumberry diapers come in models – a diaper cover that has a natural bamboo cotton pad within, or a pocket diaper, into which bamboo cotton pads or wet-free inserts made of microfiber. It  can be inserted and periodically changed. The design allows for the diaper to grow along with the baby, buttons let it expand to accommodate anything from a 2 kg baby to a 15 kg baby. Both are safe for use on a baby’s sensitive skin.
Bumberry diaper costs Rs 820 for  pocket diaper, Rs 780 for diaper cover, Rs 240 for bamboo inserts and Rs 220 for wet-free insert. These disposable diapers cannot  burnt easily. Thus the  company facilitate the environmentally and baby friendly products and services for the world.

How the idea came

The idea was born  in 2010 when Krishnan’s sister  from the US sent him cloth diapers for his one-year-old son, the same thoughts ran in the mind of Krishnan, a marketing teacher. Krishnan and his wife were happy with the comfortable the cloth diapers provided for his baby. It was then that Krishnan thought of manufacturing cloth diapers in India itself. It led him to the idea of reusable and Eco-friendly diapers. Six years after its introduction, Bumberry is moving ahead garnering positive responses. The company started its first manufacturing unit last year at Kochi.

Expansion plans

It was in 2013 that Bumberry was introduced in Amazon India and Lulu Fashion Store. Later on, FirstCry.com approached the company offering to sell Bumberry products in their platform. By  the end of 2019, Bumberry aims to introduce their products across at least 1,000 platforms
