Asia’s biggest Startup Festival – Huddle Kerala
Huddle Kerala 2019 opened on a positive note at The Leela Raviz, Kovalam, with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan claiming that Kerala has become a hub for technology firms and global startups to expand their field of operations. The Chief Minister said that Kerala has the Talent Support System and the Market Potential to become the Innovation Hub of India.
Kerala, a model startup ecosystem
Christopher Issac, co-founder of Twitter, tele-addressed the function. Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion Joint Secretary, Anil Agarwal pointed that Kerala Startup ecosystem is a model for other states. He added that women startups should be given a boost.
India to define the world
Internet and India will be the two defining factors in the future, said IAMAI Startup Foundation CEO Jitender Minhas. He added that Kerala is marking noticeable growth in innovative segments like Blockchain.
To ensure active participation of women entrepreneurs
Ajit Mohan, MD at Facebook India announced direct investment in India’s technology startups at the venue. State IT Secretary M Sivashankar IAS said that Kerala’s Digital Penetration Technology Innovation, which was launched two decades ago through Akshaya e-Centers, has helped Kerala to become a key destination in the country. Dr Saji Gopinath, CEO, Kerala Startup Mission, said that the presence of women entrepreneurs is important in the state’s startup ecosystem.
Wing Women rise together
To support women entrepreneurs through mentoring and funding, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the Kerala based operations of Wing Women rise together program. KSUM is entrusted with the responsibility of execution of Wing program in 5 South Indian states.
Various MoUs
Huddle Kerala event witnessed signing of various MoUs which connects startups with market. Wadhwani Foundation, Orbital Micro Systems, will collaborate with the state. The Beach Side Huddle stood out by organizing startup pitching in front of investors and startup pavilion.
Market and technology and innovations
Participants’ response to the event was positive. They opined that Huddle Kerala 2019 helped startup founders by giving much insights into the global possibilities of startups, marketing and technology innovations.
