Manu Kumar Jain's illustrious journey from Jabong to Xiaomi

Sometimes, people who start off small and simple, taste the best shot of success. The story of Manu Kumar Jain, Global Vice President of Xiaomi and Managing Director of Xiaomi India, is no different. Having begun his business journey with a 4-member team in 2014, he tapped the potential of the internet market.  Today, that team has multiplied to 50,000 persons and has presence across all Indian cities.

Hailing from Meerut, Manu graduated in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Delhi in 2003. After receiving an MBA from IIM Calcutta in 2007, Manu worked across various segments like sales, marketing, retail and more. In 2012, he co-founded the startup Jabong, which changed his life.

His exemplary skill in predicting market trends made Jabong on par with e-commerce giants like Flipkart. Manu joined as the managing director of Jabong, which went on to become a leading fashion and lifestyle retail platform in India. Under the leadership of Manu, Jabong became a key player in fashion and lifestyle segment with largest assortment (1000+ brands, 100,000+ unique SKUs across 10 categories) and highest traffic amongst all e-commerce sites.

After leaving Jabong in 2014, Jain joined Xiaomi as the country manager and became the global vice president in 2017. Manu was one of the first employees of the smartphone brand in India. His contribution to making Xiaomi the leading smartphone brand in India is priceless.
