Tata Motors unveils India’s first bus to use LNG as fuel. Four ‘Starbus LNG’ models have been delivered to LNG Petronet. There will be 2 units in Gujarat and two in Kochi. The locally made vehicle was on display at Auto Expo 2020.
This bus can store up to 2.5 times more fuel than CNG models. Once the tank is filled, it can operate upto 600-700 km. Seating capacity of the buses stands at 36, 40 and 52. The aim is to expand Alternate Fuel Technology in transportation sector. LNG Buses can curb air pollution to a great extent. Bus fuel is used in heavy payloads and normal variants.
