The National Restaurant Association of India seeks govt help. NRAI has requested for a financial bailout package to save the industry. The organisation with over 5 lakh members has written to the FM. FM Nirmala Sitharaman will lead govt’s economic task force for Covid-19 recovery. The organisation hopes the financial assistance will help in restoring businesses. It had advised members to close dine-in services till Mar 31 to avoid health risks. Another threat restaurants face is the loss of jobs. In the plea, NRAI requested relief on all statutory dues. It has also asked for unemployment pay cover for employees. Total and immediate deferment of all payments for utilities is also in the list.
