Apple and Google to collaborate for COVID-19 tracing tool. The tool will help public health authorities track the spread of the disease. Through contact tracing, the tool can ascertain those who have come in contact with the affected. The first phase of the project will be an API for public health agencies. Second is a system-level contact tracing system that works across iOS and Android. It uses on-board radios on the device to transmit anonymous IDs over short ranges.
