Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru’s researchers are working on a safe, economic and faster tool for COVID-19 diagnosis. The tool works based on respiratory, cough and speech sounds. The 8-member team has named the project Coswara. Once validated, it can give results faster than the current method. It poses minimum risk of exposure to healthcare professionals. The device would also record the patient’s health status, age, gender and location.
