Google is launching its virtual visiting card called ‘People Card’ in India. Users are required to share their google account and phone number to create the card. Let’s take a look at the steps to create a ‘People Card’.
In India, the card supports only English. Also, it won’t function on desktop. Use android phones, tabs, iPhones or iPods to create the one. Now, let’s move on to the steps.
Log onto google.com in your phone. Type ‘add me to google’. You can see ‘add yourself to Google’ among the results. Now click the ‘get started’ option. Here, enter personal details such as the summary and profession you are willing to disclose. You may include your photo, personal information and social media link. Contact number and email id can be hidden. Click on the preview button to see the display of given information. Submit if it is satisfactory. If there is a celebrity in your name, use words that would distinguish your profile. It will help your profile appear quickly in search results. The profile name ‘Mohan Lal food Blogger’ is an example.
Enter only genuine and accurate information. The card will be removed if you provide false information or take someone else’s bio. There is a Content Policy to detect plagiarism. As for hometown, profession, you can add your choice instead of suggestions.
The card will be removed if it is not updated or verified for a long time. You can edit the card as and when required. For that, go to google.com and select the ‘edit my people card’ option available on the top right. Thus, you can add new information and delete unnecessary ones. Check preview and save.
If you want to delete the card, go to google.com and sign in to your Google Account, edit ‘my people card option and click on ‘remove my search card from Google’.
Now let’s see how to report a problem. Search for the person you want to report. Take that person’s card and select the feedback option. Report your problem under the question ‘What do you think?’ and send it. You can also report abusive content. Search for the profile, select ‘feedback’ from the card, choose ‘report abuse’ and click ‘yes’.
