Thousands of women entrepreneurs and founders digitally participated in the ‘SHE POWER Virtual Summit and Hackathon’ organized to address various critical issues faced by women in India. The event focused the southern part of India. The startup ‘Star in Me’, a women’s career advancement platform participated in the re-skilling segment, emerged as the winner of the hackathon. ‘Karma’, a startup that presented reusable sanitary napkin solution became first runner-up while ‘Echo Rich Technologies’, which pitched the Smart Napkin Incinerator became the second runner-up. The Women Security System presented by Ms. Lakshmi Nandakumar (Assistant Professor, FISAT), received the jury’s special mention. The winners were announced by Khushboo Verma, a startup India specialist.

The winners will receive a cash prize worth Rs 1 lakh and mentoring support. Not only that, but these technology startups will also get business access to the government-corporate sector.

The winners were selected by the jury comprising TiE Bangalore, Executive Director – Vijetha Shastry, ECD Ventures-Managing Partner- Dibya Prakash and Technology Business Incubator – CEO at National Institute of Technology Calicut Preethi Manniledam and the Kerala Startup Mission representatives.

More than 100 technology solutions competed in the virtual hackathon led by the Kerala Startup Mission. She Power invited innovative technology solutions in the areas of ‘Women’s Reskilling after Covid’, ‘Women Safety’ and ‘Women’s Hygiene’. She Power Virtual Hackathon and Summit was organized in collaboration with the US State Department and World Learning along with the Kerala Startup Mission.
