Bengaluru improves startup ecosystem rank

Bengaluru ranked 23rd in an annual analysis of the world’s most favourable ecosystems to build a globally successful startup

Delhi continued its 36th position in the analysis

Mumbai topped a parallel ‘Top Emerging Ecosystems’ ranking for the second time

The Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2021 was prepared by Startup Genome

It analyses cities across the globe where early-stage startups have the potential for growth

Bengaluru improved enough in funding, connectedness, and knowledge to return to the Top 25

Its growth was also accelerated by healthy access to growth capital

Recent big funding rounds from Swiggy (USD 1.3bn), ShareChat (USD 502mn) and Byju’s (USD 460mn) contributed to it
