Defence Ministry inked a Rs 20,000 cr contract with Airbus Defence and Space of Spain
It’s to procure 56 C-295 medium transport aircraft
The aircraft will replace Avro-748 planes of the Indian Air Force
Airbus Defence and Space of Spain has made an industrial partnership with Tata Advanced Systems
It is for the manufacturing purpose
16 aircraft will be delivered in a flyaway condition by the Airbus Defence and Space
It will be done in a span of 48 months
The remaining 40 planes will be manufactured in India
It’ll be done by Tata Advanced Systems Limited
It’ll be carried out within 10 years of signing the contract
