Govt extends FAME II scheme till March 2024
FAME India Scheme is an incentive scheme for the promotion of electric and hybrid vehicles in the country
FAME’s first phase that started in 2015 was completed on March 31, 2019
The second phase focuses on supporting the electrification of public and shared transportation
The ongoing phase has a total outlay of INR 10,000 Cr over the projected three years
Earlier this month, govt increased incentives on electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers to boost adoption
Incentives are provided in the form of subsidies to EV makers and infrastructure providers of electric vehicles
