ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ iPhone XR പ്രൊഡക്ഷന്‍ ആരംഭിച്ച് Apple. ആഭ്യന്തര വിപണിയും കയറ്റുമതിയും ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ടാണ് നീക്കം. സ്മാര്‍ട്ട്ഫോണ്‍ ഉല്‍പാദനം വര്‍ധിപ്പിക്കാനുള്ള സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ശ്രമത്തിന് സഹായകരമെന്ന് കേന്ദ്ര ഐടി മന്ത്രി രവിശങ്കര്‍ പ്രസാദ്. Apple ചാര്‍ജര്‍ സപ്ലൈയറായ Salcomp ചെന്നൈയിലെ നോക്കിയ പ്ലാന്റ് ഏറ്റെടുക്കും. 2020 മാര്‍ച്ചിന് പ്ലാന്റ് പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം ആരംഭിക്കുമെന്ന് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്. ഇന്ത്യയുടെ മൊബൈല്‍ കമ്പോണന്റ് എക്സ്പോര്‍ട്ട് 1.6 ബില്യണ്‍ USD എത്തുമെന്നും രവിശങ്കര്‍ പ്രസാദ്.

ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ 5G ടെക്നോളജി 2022 മുതല്‍ ലഭ്യമാക്കുമെന്ന് Ericsson റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്. 2025ല്‍ ആകെ സബ്സ്‌ക്രിപ്ഷന്റെ 11 ശതമാനവും 5G ആയിരിക്കുമെന്നും കമ്പനി. ലോകത്തെ മൊബൈല്‍ ഡാറ്റാ ട്രാഫിക്കിന്റെ 45 ശതമാനവും 5G കയ്യടക്കും. സ്മാര്‍ട്ട് ഫോണ്‍ വഴിയുള്ള ആവറേജ് ഡാറ്റാ ട്രാഫിക്ക് 24 ജിബിയില്‍ എത്തും. ഇന്ത്യയിലെ സ്മാര്‍ട്ട് ഫോണ്‍ ഉപയോക്താക്കളുടെ എണ്ണം 2025ല്‍ 500 മില്യണിലെത്തുമെന്നും Ericsson റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്.
