Kerala Financial Corporation announces 3 new loan schemes for MSMEs to tide over economic crisis. A loan of Rs 5 Cr is available on easy terms to units connected to products or services used in fighting COVID-19. This can be used to buy equipments and raw materials or to meet financial need. Rs 50 lakh to entities that market MSME products or support the sector. Such loans will have a repayment period of 36 months after a period moratorium of 12 months.
RBI recently issued a 3-month moratorium on all Term Loans in the wake of COVID-19. It is applicable to all Term Loans in all segments. An aid for the financially poor who are hit badly by the pandemic. The right to choose or ignore the moratorium lies with the bank. Hence, the borrower has to notify the bank to get the benefit. On the bright side, choosing moratorium will not affect the borrower’s credit score. However, the three-month moratorium is not a waiver. IIT Hyderabad’s startup develops IoT-enabled low-cost ventilator. The device named Jeevan Lite is made by Aerobiosys Innovations. The IoT-enabled device can be operated through a mobile app. It can be battery-operated in places where power supply cannot be assured. The ventilator provides a real-time display of waveforms. Jeevan Lite will provide enough isolation to patients and protection to health workers.
COVID-19: World Bank allots Rs 7,611 Cr to India. An emergency fund worth $160 Bn to countries in 15 months. World Bank to extend support to 40 countries.
