Apple introduces Daisy robot to strengthen recycling programmes. The Recycling Center is in Austin, Texas. Daisy robot can disassemble 200 iPhones per hour. Recovers high-quality minerals compared to other recyclers. 14 minerals including tin, cobalt and lithium can be extracted and recycled. The robot is less than 20 yards in length. It uses a four-step process to remove an iPhone battery. Apple had bought carbon-free aluminium from Rio Tinto & Alcoa. Plans to share the technology with others are on the anvil.

മികച്ച സൈബര് സെക്യൂരിറ്റി ഐഡിയയ്ക്ക് 3.2 കോടിയുടെ ഗ്രാന്റുമായി കേന്ദ്ര സര്ക്കാര് ‘ചാലഞ്ച്’. ഇലക്ട്രോണിക്സ് & ഇന്ഫര്മേഷന് ടെക്നോളജി മന്ത്രാലയവും സൈബര് സെക്യൂരിറ്റി കൗണ്സില് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യയും ചേര്ന്നാണ് സൈബര് സെക്യൂരിറ്റി ഗ്രാന്റ് ചാലഞ്ച് സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെടുന്ന സ്റ്റാര്ട്ടപ്പുകളുടെ ഐഡിയകള് IoT, മൈക്രോ സര്വീസസ്, ബയോമെട്രിക്സ്, ഹാര്ഡ്വെയര് സെക്യൂരിറ്റി എന്നിവയില് ഉപയോഗിക്കും. ഐഡിയ സ്റ്റേജില് 12 സ്റ്റാര്ട്ടപ്പുകള്ക്ക് 5 ലക്ഷം വീതവും, എംവിപി സ്റ്റേജില് 6 സ്റ്റാര്ട്ടപ്പുകള്ക്ക് 10 ലക്ഷം വീതവും ഫൈനലില് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെടുന്ന സ്റ്റാര്ട്ടപ്പിന് ഒരു കോടിയുമാണ് സമ്മാനം. ഫസ്റ്റ് റണ്ണറപ്പിന് 60 ലക്ഷവും സെക്കന്റ് റണ്ണറപ്പിന് 40 ലക്ഷവും ലഭിക്കും. ഫെബ്രുവരി 14ന് മുന്പ് അപേക്ഷിക്കാം. വിശദവിവരങ്ങള്ക്ക് https://innovate.mygov.in/cyber-security-grand-challenge/ എന്ന ലിങ്ക് സന്ദര്ശിക്കുക.
ഇ-വേസ്റ്റ് അളവ് കുറയ്ക്കാനുള്ള ചുവടുവെപ്പുമായി Apple. തിരികെയെടുക്കുന്ന ഐഫോണ് റീസൈക്കിള് ചെയ്യുന്നതിലാണ് ഇപ്പോള് കമ്പനി ഫോക്കസ് ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഡെയ്സി എന്ന റോബോട്ട് വഴി ഫോണുകളിലെ മിനറല്സ് റിക്കവര് ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രോസസാണ് മുഖ്യമായും നടക്കുന്നത്. ടിന്, കൊബാള്ട്ട്, ലിഥിയം എന്നിവയടക്കം 14 മിനറലുകള് കമ്പനി റീയൂസ് ചെയ്യും. മണിക്കൂറില് 200 ഐഫോണുകള് റീസൈക്കിള് ചെയ്യാന് ഡെയ്സി എന്ന റോബോട്ടിന് സാധിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ടെക്സസിലെ ഓസ്റ്റിനിലുള്ള Apple Recycling Facility സെന്ററിലാണ് ഡെയ്സി ഇന്സ്റ്റാള് ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത്. Rio Tinto and Alcoa കമ്പനിയില് നിന്നും കാര്ബണ് ഫ്രീ അലുമിനിയം Apple വാങ്ങിയിരുന്നു. 18 മീറ്ററാണ് ഡെയ്സി റോബോട്ടിന്റെ നീളം. ഐഫോണ് ബാറ്ററി നീക്കം ചെയ്യാന് മാത്രം 4 സ്റ്റെപ്പാണ് ഡെസ്സി റോബോട്ടിനുള്ളത്. ഇലക്ട്രിക്ക് ഓട്ടോ മേക്കേഴ്സുമായി റോബോട്ട് ടെക്നോളജി ഷെയര് ചെയ്യാനും കമ്പനി നീക്കം നടത്തുന്നുണ്ട്.
ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ടെലികോം സര്വീസായി Reliance Jio. 2019 ഡിസംബറിലെ കണക്കുകള് പ്രകാരം 1350 കോടി രൂപയുടെ നെറ്റ് പ്രോഫിറ്റാണ് ലഭിച്ചത്. മുന്വര്ഷത്തേക്കാള് 62.5 % വളര്ച്ചയാണ് Reliance Jio നേടിയത്. നിലവില് 37 കോടി യൂസേഴ്സാണ് ജിയോയ്ക്കുള്ളത്. ‘the driver of digital revolution’ എന്നാണ് റിലയന്സ് ചെയര്മാന് മുകേഷ് അംബാനി ജിയോയെ വിശേഷിപ്പിച്ചത്.
വാട്സാപ്പില് അഡ്വര്ടൈസ്മെന്റ് ഓപ്ഷന് നല്കാനുള്ള നീക്കം ഫേസ്ബുക്ക് താല്കാലികമായി മരവിപ്പിക്കുമെന്ന് റിപ്പോര്ട്ട്. വാട്സാപ്പ് വഴി മറ്റ് റവന്യു മാര്ഗങ്ങള് കണ്ടെത്താന് ഫേസ്ബുക്ക് ആലോചിക്കുന്നു. വാള്സ്ട്രീറ്റ് ജേര്ണലിന്റെ റിപ്പോര്ട്ട് പ്രകാരം ബിസിനസ് അഡ്വര്ട്ടൈസ്മെന്റ് വാട്സാപ്പില് ഉള്പ്പെടുത്താന് ഫേസ്ബുക്ക് പദ്ധതിയിടുന്നു. ഇന്ത്യയില് 40 കോടി യൂസേഴ്സാണ് വാട്സാപ്പിനുള്ളത്. 2019ലെ ഫേസ്ബുക്ക് മാര്ക്കറ്റിങ്ങ് സമ്മിറ്റിലാണ് വാട്സാപ്പില് പരസ്യം നല്കുമെന്ന് കമ്പനി റിപ്പോര്ട്ട് ചെയ്തത്.
