E-commerce platforms halt operations for 72 hours in Kashmir. The decision comes after Article 370 was revoked on Monday. Amazon India stated that they temporarily closed their Kashmir operations due to safety concerns. Snapdeal revealed that they put all deliveries to J&K on hold until situation returns to normalcy. Apart from e-commerce, telecom companies’ business worth Rs 5 Cr was affected on Monday.
Flipkart will launch Flipkart Videos, a free video streaming service. Flipkart Videos will be available in vernacular platforms. Contents available will include short films, full-length movies, and episodic series. The platform will be ad-supported and will be available free for users on Flipkart app. With the launch Videos, Flipkart will take on rival Amazon’s Prime Video service. Through the move, Flipkart is eyeing the next 200 million consumers that are coming online.

Bharti Airtel beats Vodafone Idea to become the second-highest mobile revenue earner. Airtel’s revenue for the April-June quarter stands at Rs 10,866 Crore. Reliance Jio holds the top position in terms of mobile revenue. Airtel’s mobile revenues witnessed a Year-Over-Year growth of 3.7 percent. Airtel’s network and content costs are rising as it witnesses a steady rise in mobile data customers.

Apple Inc launches large-format franchisee stores in Mumbai. The firm has been in plans to launch company-owned stores in India. Apple will join hands with its retail partner Aptronix for the venture. Aptronix runs Apple’s APR and mono stores in the south and west of India. The company aims to launch more franchisee store in Bengaluru and Delhi.
