Maker Village’s Startup Comes up with a unique UAV to Combat Corona Spread. The unmanned ‘Garud’ is designed and engineered by AI Aerial Dynamics. The AI-supported drone can monitor body temperature, supply essential commodities & spray disinfectants. It is equipped with a high-resolution camera, facility to carry weight, micro-sprayer & thermal scanner. Highly efficient & effective than those currently imported from other countries. The drone can collect thermal data using an array of IR sensors and advanced digital technology called EDGE. Swabs and samples of people for COVID-19 test can also be collected using this.

Hyundai Motors handed over advanced testing kits to ICMR. The advanced diagnostic testing kits are worth Rs 4 Cr. The kits offer high-level accuracy and have been imported from South Korea. They will meet the testing requirements of above 25,000 individuals. Hyundai also announced support initiatives for customers in these testing times.

Govt to maintain a record of all lay-offs and salary deductions. Labour Ministry’s EPFO and ESIC are entrusted with the initiative. Data collected by them will be sent directly to the Prime Minister’s Office. The data will give insights on the worst-affected sectors and impact on employees. EPFO has over 60 Mn subscribers whereas ESIC has above 30 Mn. Labour Ministry has set up over 20 call centres to resolve workers’ grievances.

Pune-based startup Nocca Robotics develops low-cost ventilators. Contrary to current market price Rs 4 Lakhs/unit, Nocca’s products are priced at less than Rs 50,000. They are mechanical ventilators capable of operating in the pressure-controlled mode. Nocca Robotics, founded in 2017, is incubated in IIT Kanpur. The ventilators will be connected to a mobile phone for control & information display. All components of the ventilator will be locally manufactured. The device is capable of operating on its own in ambient air. Nocca Robotics aims to deploy 30,000 ventilators per month. India is in dire need of ventilators to treat COVID-19 patients.…
