Lockdown: NORKA sets up helpdesks in nine nations, mainly gulf regions. The service is available for expats in Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, UK, Indonesia, Mozambique & Bangladesh. This is to help Keralites trapped in foreign countries during COVID-19 pandemic. NORKA has already set up a helpdesk in the UAE with the help of Malayali organisation. Corona: Norka Roots & Kerala Pravasi Welfare Fund to provide emergency aid to expats. Rs 1000 will be given to pensioners who are members of the Pravasi Welfare Fund. This emergency help is in addition to their usual pension amount. A total of 15,000 expats will be benefited from this. Rs 10, 000 will be given as emergency aid for COVID -19 patients who are members of the Welfare Fund. Rs 5000 is allowed to those who returned to Kerala after January 1, 2020. It is for NRKs with valid passports & work visas & whose visa expired in the lockdown period.
