Search giant Google has acquired Bangalore based Sigmoid labs Pvt Ltd. Sigmoid Labs own India’s highest rated travel app ‘Where is my Train’, a unique app that displays live train status without internet & GPS. The acquisition is part of Google’s Next billion user’s initiative. Google’s ‘Next Billion User’ division works on products & services that helps in rise of internet adoption in emerging markets, especially India. The app allows offline integration of Indian Railways and IRCTC timetables by using cell-tower information to locate trains. Sigmoid Labs founded by former TiVo Corporation executives Ahmed Nizam Mohaideen, Arun Kumar Nagarajan, Balasubramoniam Rajendran, Sashikumar Venkataraman & Meenakshi Sundaram
