Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion announced the State wise Startup Rankings and Gujarat emerges as the best performer among States and Union Territories in the first-ever ranking of the start-up ecosystem across the country. Karnataka Kerala Odisha and Rajasthan are ranked as the top performing states.
Kerala among the 4 Top Performing State startup ranking list by DIPP Dr .Saji Gopinath ,CEO Kerala Startup Mission received the honor. Policy support for startups, Entrepreneurship cells in every district and institutional mechanism for financing startups helped Kerala to bag this honor. Total of 27 states and 3 union territories participated. Rankings were part of 19 action points for start-up India initiative in January 2016 Ranking based on the steps taken by the state & UTs to create a favorable environment for Startups. DIPP examined 14,565 startups across the Country. Ranking of the states were categorized as Beginners, Emerging states, Aspiring Leaders, Leaders, Top Performers and Best Performers Startups offers services in various sectors like IT, Healthcare, Education, Agriculture, Renewable energy & Technology hardware. With this ranking DIPP aims to foster the startup ecosystem across the country.
